About Pratish

Namaste! I'm Pratish Dani, an RYT-500 Certified Yoga Teacher from India with over 13 years of teaching experience. I completed my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training at a Yoga Alliance-registered school in Rishikesh.

Over the years, I have guided more than 800 students in India and internationally, helping them develop a consistent yoga practice suited to their individual needs, abilities and lifestyles.

I offer personalised online yoga classes worldwide, as well as in-person home-visit sessions in Ahmedabad, including South Bopal, Bopal, Ghuma, Shela, Ambli and Mumatpura.

MY JOURNEY AND WHY I TEACH

My journey into yoga is deeply personal. Yoga helped me navigate depression and transformed the way I understood physical and mental well-being. Through my own experience, I came to appreciate how mindful movement, breathing and a consistent practice can influence the way we feel and approach everyday life.

This experience inspires me to share yoga with others and help people discover a practice that works for them, whether they are managing physical discomfort, dealing with everyday stress or simply looking to improve their overall health and well-being.

MY TEACHING APPROACH

With an engineering background, I bring a structured, science-informed approach to traditional yoga. My teaching emphasises movement, alignment, body mechanics, mindful breathing and gradual progression.

I believe yoga should adapt to the individual, not the other way around. Every student has different needs, experience, physical abilities, limitations and goals. I therefore personalise my guidance rather than expecting everyone to follow the same routine.

MY AREAS OF FOCUS

• BACK AND NECK PAIN: Adapted yoga practices to support mobility, movement awareness and everyday physical comfort.

• POSTURE AND DESK-RELATED STIFFNESS: Practices that develop posture awareness, mobility and healthier everyday movement habits.

• STRESS MANAGEMENT: Mindful movement, breathing and relaxation practices to support calm and mental well-being.

• OVERALL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL WELL-BEING: Developing flexibility, functional strength, body awareness, breathing awareness and a sustainable yoga routine.

I also welcome people who simply want to make yoga part of their lifestyle, improve their fitness and well-being, or explore traditional yoga practices.

Beginners are always welcome. You do not need exceptional flexibility or previous yoga experience to start. I introduce practices progressively and guide you at a pace suited to your abilities and comfort.

My aim is to help you build a personalised, sustainable yoga practice that fits your body, goals and everyday life.

My classes combine traditional yoga with anatomy-informed movement, clear instruction, mindful breathing and progressive learning. Each session is planned and guided according to your individual needs, experience, comfort and goals rather than following a fixed routine for everyone.

MY TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Explain → Demonstrate → Observe → Correct → Adapt → Progress

I explain each movement, demonstrate the technique and provide real-time verbal guidance and alignment corrections. I observe your movements and adapt the sequence, pace and level of difficulty according to your abilities and comfort.

You are never expected to perform every pose perfectly or keep up with anyone else. I help you understand each practice, develop confidence and progress gradually through suitable modifications.

MY RANGE OF YOGA PRACTICES

Practices are selected according to your individual goals, experience and physical suitability.

• 60 Traditional Yoga Asanas: Progressively introduced to develop flexibility, mobility, strength, core stability and body awareness, with appropriate modifications.

• 50 Pranayama Techniques and Combinations: Traditional yogic breathing practices to develop breath awareness, concentration and relaxation.

• Distinctive Breathing Techniques: Including Swaiso, Golden Nugget, Parshuram and Valmiki Pranayama.

• Surya Namaskar: Traditional Sun Salutations introduced progressively and adapted to your abilities.

• Meditation and Mindfulness: Practices to develop awareness, focus and relaxation.

• Yoga Nidra and Shavasana: Guided relaxation practices to help you unwind and cultivate a restful practice.

• Jal Neti Guidance: Introduction to this traditional yogic nasal-cleansing practice where appropriate, with attention to individual suitability, hygiene and safe technique.

You do not need to learn all 60 asanas or 50 pranayama techniques at once. They are introduced progressively over time, allowing you to develop understanding and confidence at a comfortable pace.

A TYPICAL 60-MINUTE YOGA SESSION

1. Preparation, Breathing and Joint Mobility — 10 minutes

Gentle movements, breathing awareness and joint preparation to prepare your body for practice.

2. Surya Namaskar and Yoga Asanas — 15 minutes

Progressive Sun Salutations followed by three selected asanas, with attention to alignment, movement quality and individual needs.

3. Rhythmic Breathing — 10 minutes

Guided breathing practices to develop breath awareness and coordination.

4. Pranayama — 15 minutes

Traditional yogic breathing techniques selected according to your experience and suitability.

5. Meditation and Relaxation — 10 minutes

This is a guiding structure, not a rigid routine. The sequence and practices can be adapted according to your needs, experience and comfort.

  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

Yoga became an important part of my own life because I experienced how a consistent practice can support physical well-being, mental calmness and greater balance in daily life. This experience motivated me to study yoga more deeply and eventually make teaching it my profession.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

My own experience with yoga showed me how valuable a consistent, well-guided practice can be for physical and mental well-being. I became fascinated by the depth of yoga and wanted to help others experience its practical benefits through personalized guidance.
  • How does your work help society?

Through yoga, I help people develop practical practices that support stress management, mobility, strength, flexibility, relaxation and overall physical and mental wellness. I adapt the practice to each student's needs rather than following the same routine for everyone.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

If I had to choose a role model for my work as a yoga teacher, it would be Maharshi Patanjali. He is traditionally credited with compiling the Yoga Sutras, which provide a clear framework for understanding yoga as a path of physical well-being, mental balance, self-discipline, and inner growth.

What inspires me most is that these teachings remain practical and timeless. They show that yoga is not only about physical postures, but also about breath awareness, mindfulness, emotional balance, and living with greater awareness in everyday life.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside of yoga, I enjoy reading books on self-growth and spirituality, listening to soothing music, and singing. I also love traveling to peaceful, remote places to connect with the beauty and serenity of nature. Spending time with my childhood friends brings me joy and helps me stay grounded.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

One of my students came to me experiencing significant stress and difficulty sleeping due to work pressure. Through regular online yoga practice, along with breathing and relaxation techniques, the student gradually experienced improvements in relaxation, sleep and daytime energy. Seeing this positive change was one of the most rewarding moments of my teaching journey and reinforced why I value personalized, consistent guidance.
