About Liza
I have been working as a tutor and a mentor for as long as I can remember, starting out tutoring my neighbor’s daughter in English when I was in the eighth grade. Since then, I have been working professionally with high school students for five years. As a mentor, I build strong relationships with my students while facilitating lessons designed to support their social and emotional development.
Because of my unique and specialized approach, my clients have been accepted to schools such as Harvard, the University of Chicago, Yale, New York University, Dartmouth, Penn, and Columbia. I love to see my students grow as they develop unique writing voices and effective study habits.
I am also a writer and a poet. My poetry has received numerous accolades. Check out my YouTube poetry channel below for a sense of my pedagogy!

I offer a variety of services, ranging from college consulting preparation to English tutoring and test prep (SAT, ACT, GRE, AP Testing). I love to work one-on-one with students and watch them grow as writers. As a private college consultant, I personalize your child's experience as they navigate college essays, standardized test prep, and profile building.
I like work with children not only as an educator but as a mentor, guiding them through every step of the college application process and bringing them both a sense of joy and security with my pedagogical technique. As a Columbia University English graduate, I have fantastic creative and compositional skills and consider myself to be an excellent writer and communicator. I am incredibly organized and have a fantastic work ethic, as well as a high level of enthusiasm. I love working with students and seeing them grow both as young adults.
My graduate degree in English has prepared me to professionally coach students through essay writing and editing.
