About Tamara
I am a Chartered Accountant , graduating from London School of Economics, and a personal development coach currently working within the finance sector. I have been teaching both full time and part time since 2016 and aim to help students connect with their learning to discover simpler techniques and strategies to help secure those top marks! I have extensive knowledge of the current curriculum and cover mainly the core subjects for ages between 6-21 years, I offer both face-to-face and online learning. Teaching is something that I thoroughly enjoy, and to be able to share my knowledge to complement the classroom lessons in school is rewarding. But one of the main reasons which prompted me to start tutoring was so that I could give that one-to-one experience which is lacking in schools, other than parents, teachers have a significant influence upon a student and to be able to provide guidance and counselling to help students view education and learning in a different light is satisfying because you see gradual growth and a change in attitude. I definitely see more connection and built progress amongst the many students whom I have taught, which again complements progress in school. In my spare time I like to travel, read and surround myself in nature! I am someone who likes to keep busy and generally find myself trying lots of different new things such as taking a yoga class or hiking to bring me out of my comfort zone :)

A friendly approach is always used to create engaging lessons. Each lesson is personalised, engaging and productive. A key part to my approach is regular tests and assessments which are taken in order to identify progress and areas for development. Regular feedback is a fundamental aspect of my teaching approach and students are always encouraged to reflect on their lessons. My patient, supportive and warm style allows me to guide students in understanding mark schemes, tackling exam questions and meeting exam requirements. Beyond exam preparation, I focus on developing essential study skills such as organization, planning, managing exam pressure and reflection, which are crucial for long-term academic success.
