About Yaamir
I went from being bottom set in English at school, scoring 5s, to achieving both 9s at GCSE and a 98% A* at A-Level. How did I do this?
Schools do well to cover the content, such as themes, plots, character profiles etc... but rarely does this translate into exam success that students hope for.
Why? Because learning content alone is not enough.
My mission is to fill this gap by teaching the art of articulation in writing in a structured and methodical way, so that students can convert understanding of their texts into top grades.
If you are looking for a tutor to cover the content of set texts, I am not the right tutor for that. But if you are looking to learn how to ace English Literature and English Language exams by learning proper exam technique, then do reach out to me.

I place a unique emphasis on exam technique tailored towards your specific GCSE/A-Level exam board, rather than just learning about the content of set texts. My lessons range from 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the student's goals. I am an experienced GCSE English tutor and a relatively new A level English tutor.
I have created various exam technique-based worksheets for my students to use, refining each skill and learning how to implement these in exams.
I speak passionately in my lessons and avoid spoon-feeding answers to my students to encourage independent thinking.
