About Brooklyn
As a college sophomore, I am currently studying to receive a secondary teaching certificate in History. Along with this, I have 5 years of tutoring and tailored lesson design experience in general education subjects (math, science, reading, social studies) and the English language. My background is rooted in K-12 schooling, and standardized exam preparation (STAAR, TSI, AP exams, etc). I am highly experienced with students who are total beginners and those with special needs--such as dyslexia and ADHD. My goal is for you to have total confidence in your knowledge through customized, progress-based lessons to ensure mastering vital information at your own pace. I believe in tailor-made lesson planning as each student requires something different. However, staples in my teaching include: open discussions about specific topics, concept mapping, guided breakdowns and practice, retrieval practice, and exam simulation. All of these techniques ensure that the student can confidently understand the information being presented in various ways. My lessons are for anyone taking STAAR, EOC's, Various Humanities and Liberal Art related AP's and Dual Credit courses. I am also available for Freshmen and Sophomores in college.
