About Natividad

Singers preparing for a high stakes audition often walk into my studio carrying significant tension. I remember the exact moment a student realized their belting technique was actually just a bad habit causing throat strain. My BFA in Musical Theatre from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama taught me how to break down the science of sound.

Most of my expertise in vocal range extension and rhythm came from getting it wrong during those early teaching days. I have worked with over 100 students to refine sight singing and harmony singing skills. I enjoy watching people figure out the mechanics of tone and resonance, until the process just becomes part of the background noise.

About the lesson

Singing is often an exercise in failing until your anatomy finally decides to cooperate. We treat your instrument like a physics problem where we isolate variables to achieve genre styling for pop or classical work.

My acoustic vocology approach ensures you understand vocal health and care before you try anything fancy. There are 10 specific techniques we cycle through to ensure you keep a routine after our time together. We prioritize consistent phrasing so you do not need me in the room to sound correct.

I want you to eventually argue with my instruction because that means you truly understand your own voice. You will find that these sessions are focused on building autonomy rather than just following orders.
