About SOPHIE
I am a qualified teacher with a BA Hons Fine Art and PGCE. I specialised in painting and drawing and have been teaching for 8 years. I have taught all ages and in a variety of settings with a lot of focus on SEN. I had a lot of success with running Gifted and Talented Programmes in Bradford Schools. I also helped to design the curriculum and set up a private art school.

Lessons are broken down into fun activities and differing techniques to express individual ideas and the artist is always encouraged to explore further beyond the lesson. Lessons focus on ideas, form and structure, the practical application of a range of media including: paint, pencil, charcoal and mixed media pieces as well as final presentation. We will refer to contextual studies as much as the work or student requires. I will design a scheme of work for each individual student with their goals as primary learning targets and will develop the lesson plans as the student's needs develop and grow.

Sophie is amazing, easily relaxes her students with her gentle and kind approach.
Sophie thinks outside the box to help students who are struggling , adapts to their learning styles and gives different solutions snd scenarios to help them understand exactly what us required, also very patient person who always builds confidence in her students.Sophie is an enthusiastic teacher who always researches and plans her lessons/ workshops well and presents them in a joyful and infectious manner. When I employed her to deliver workshops and teach art in local schools I only ever heard the highest praise from pupils and staff.
