About Beth
I’m a 5-year qualified corporate lawyer at a leading London law firm, where I also supervise trainees.
When I first applied to my firm, I was convinced I wanted to be a family lawyer — but during my training contract, I discovered corporate law and ended up loving it! I trained at a full-service firm, gaining experience across employment, commercial disputes, private client and residential property before qualifying into corporate. Since then, I have built my career as a corporate lawyer, working across a range of transactions and regularly alongside lawyers from different teams within my firm.
I also know the legal recruitment process first-hand. I studied English Literature as an undergraduate and, while completing my Master’s, applied for vacation schemes and straight training contracts without having any friends or family who had gone into law. The process was completely new to me — from understanding the different types of firms and what they were looking for to navigating applications, assessment centres and interviews. I successfully secured three vacation schemes in my first year of applications and, by the time I undertook my third, I had already secured two training contract offers.
Since qualifying, I have supervised numerous vacation scheme students, assessed candidates at my firm’s vacation scheme assessment centre and supervised six trainees to date, including both those entering the profession after university and career changers. This has given me insight into what firms look for throughout the recruitment process, as well as what we look for in trainees as they approach qualification and compete for NQ positions.
I also have a broad network of lawyers across different firms, including those who have moved between firms and practice areas, giving me a good understanding of the wider legal market and the different career paths available.
I’m passionate about making the legal profession more accessible and demystifying a process that can feel daunting, particularly if you don’t have friends or family who have gone into law. I now draw on my experience as an applicant, corporate lawyer, supervisor and assessor to provide practical, personalised advice to aspiring solicitors and trainees.

My lessons are practical, personalised and completely tailored to you. There is no set lesson plan — we can use the time in whatever way will be most useful, depending on where you are in the process and what you want to achieve.
I can review and give feedback on a vacation scheme or training contract application, CV or personal statement, practise interview techniques with you, help you to prepare for assessment centres, or discuss and plan your application strategy. I can help you understand what firms are looking for, identify where your applications could be stronger and build your confidence ahead of an upcoming application or interview.
As a corporate lawyer, I can also help you develop your commercial awareness and understanding of how both individuals and businesses and their legal advisers operate. I regularly work with different teams within my firm, giving me insight into the work different practice areas do and the varying ways they support their clients. Combined with my own training across a full-service law firm, this allows me to offer a broader perspective on the profession and the different career paths available within a law firm.
I’m passionate about making the legal profession more accessible and helping to demystify a process that can often feel unfamiliar or difficult to navigate, particularly if you don’t have friends or family in the profession. I know from my own experience how daunting it can be to work out what firms are looking for and how to approach the recruitment process when you have no real insight into how it works.
For trainees approaching qualification, I can also help with NQ applications and interviews, including how to present your experience, identify your strengths and position yourself effectively in what can be a particularly competitive stage of the process.
Lessons can be one-offs or regular, depending on what you need. Whether you want feedback on a particular application, preparation for an upcoming assessment centre or interview, help developing your commercial awareness, or ongoing support throughout the recruitment process, we can make the sessions work for you.
