About Charles
During my doctoral studies I tutored for 3 years, taught astronomy labs, and helped conduct public observing nights. While I have mentored graduate students since obtaining my PhD, I am looking to continue tutoring at the undergraduate level.
I enjoy connecting concepts which aren't necessarily obviously connected, especially ways to relate what may feel like an abstract concept to rather normal experiences.

I believe that building a solid concept map is the foundation for mastery of any physical science. Thus, while a mathematics background is helpful, I place a greater emphasis on synthesizing concepts and building an intuition. To achieve this, I try to tie new concepts to ones students already have mastered.
My lessons are primarily for undergraduates or AP high school students.
