About Lisa
I am a recently retired elementary school teacher of over twenty years. Last year, I received the Crystal Apple Award for creativity and academic success in teaching. My toolbox is full of ideas to encourage and motivate those who have trepidation in getting started in writing, whether it be response to literature, rhetoric, narrative or persuade writing. I have extensive knowledge in small group and one-on-one instruction.

I approach writing thematically based on the style assigned. Based on need, students will use compare/contrast, main idea/detail, thematic approach, etc...to write a well-rounded essay. Graphic organizers enhance the application process to, first, generate ideas, next organize information and, finally, enhance and invigorate the details to execute an impressive, cohesive writing piece. By breaking the writing process into chunks, students become empowered as the finished product comes to fruition in his/her personal style.
