About Jack
I am a go-getter through and through. I started out as an electric bassist and somehow convinced the University of Michigan to still let me in their program. This was under the promise I would take up the double bass. By my senior year, I had fallen so in love with the double bass and was playing five nights a week. My method of teaching shares with you what motivated me through my biggest obstacles, propelled me to the top of my class, and maximized the efficiency of my practice.

My lessons are playing based, yet remain focused on technique and fundamentals. For example, a student will learn how to play their favorite song, but my lesson goes beyond the notes. Students also learn the most efficient way to play on the fingerboard, the music theory behind that song, and how to get the most out of their practice time through playing slowly with a metronome.
