About Oshotse

Hi, I'm Shots :) I'm a recent UK Bar Practice Course Graduate with a passion for law, the English language and a sincere desire to impress my excitement for both upon the next generation of legal minds! I want to teach because I believe in making complex subjects accessible. During my studies and professional experiences, I often supported peers in breaking down difficult topics and preparing for exams. I found that I enjoy helping others grow in confidence and achieve their academic goals. As a tutor, I combine professionalism with patience and a structured approach. My aim is to reassure students that they are capable of mastering the material, no matter their starting point. With the right guidance, anyone can make real progress and I am committed to providing that support.

About the lesson

I believe the most effective tutoring balances clarity, structure, and confidence-building. My method is to break down complex topics into simple, manageable steps, then build up to applying that knowledge in problem-solving and exam-style scenarios. I make lessons interactive, asking students to explain concepts back to me in their own words to ensure genuine understanding. A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, but I can also offer 90-minute sessions for students who want more in-depth guidance or exam preparation. Each session is tailored to the student’s goals - whether that’s mastering core content, developing essay technique, or preparing for assessments. In terms of qualifications, I hold a First-Class LLB (University of London), an LLM in Asian Economic Integration & Law (Waseda University, Tokyo), and a Bar Course & LLM with Distinction (University of Law). I have been called to the Bar of England & Wales, and have extensive experience in advocacy, mooting, and legal drafting. Alongside my legal work, I’ve mentored and supported fellow students, helping them sharpen their exam and writing skills. My lessons are suitable for a wide range of learners, including: Law students at A-Level, undergraduate, GDL, Bar Course, and LLM level. Students preparing for exams who want to strengthen essay structure, problem questions, and exam technique. Aspiring advocates or mooters who want to build confidence in oral presentation and argument. International students or professionals seeking support with Legal English or academic writing. Above all, I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, make mistakes, and build lasting confidence in their subject.

Oshotse has a brilliant grasp of the law — he has completed two master’s courses. He also won a moot competition last year in front of a High Court judge, having had to switch the side he was advocating for 50 minutes earlier. He therefore has an amazing ability to break down complex legal principles and distill them into easy to understand points. Oshotse also has a great knowledge of procedure and litigation, having marshalled two High Court judges (Constable and Bacon JJ) and done the Bar Practice Course. Overall, a stellar legal mind and a great person as well!
