About Koka

Bonjour! I'm Koka, a native French speaker based between Berkeley (California) and Paris, with degrees from La Sorbonne and UC Berkeley. Over the past 4 years, I've helped 20+ students across the US learn French: from total beginners to advanced learners moving to France or speaking confidently.

What makes my lessons unique:

. Free personalized learning website for every student. I build a custom web space for you with exercises, vocabulary, audio, and progress tracking, designed 100% around YOUR goals. Nobody else on Superprof gives you this.

. Fun and playful lessons, not boring drills. We use games, stories, real-life videos, and interactive exercises so learning actually sticks.

. Hyper-personalized approach. Every lesson, every exercise, every homework is crafted for YOUR interests, YOUR pace, YOUR life. Nothing copy-pasted.

Why it works: Living between Paris and California gives me both sides of the learning journey. I know French inside out, and I know exactly where English speakers struggle: silent letters, nasal sounds, the subjunctive, translating in your head instead of thinking in French. I have simple, proven fixes for each.

In your free trial lesson (45 min), you get:
1. A level assessment so we know where to start.
2. A pronunciation warm-up you can practice daily.
3. A first peek at your personalized learning website.

Ready to actually speak French, not just study it? Book your free trial. If we click, we keep going. If not, you leave with a real plan and a fun pronunciation exercise.

À très bientôt!

About the lesson

Forget boring textbooks and Duolingo streaks. My lessons are built to make you actually SPEAK French, from week one.

Every student gets:

. A free personalized learning website built just for you, with exercises, audio, vocabulary lists, and progress tracking.
. Fun and playful lessons: games, real French videos, stories, role-plays, conversation challenges.
. Hyper-personalized content: love cooking? We talk cooking. Love cinema? French movies. Love tech? Tech French. Every lesson fits YOUR world.
. Pronunciation coaching in every session until you sound authentically French, not "American French".

Structure of a typical lesson (45 min):
1. Warm-up and recap of last session (5 min)
2. Real-life conversation practice with live corrections (15 min)
3. New vocabulary or grammar through a fun exercise, game, or video (15 min)
4. Pronunciation drill customized to your specific weaknesses (5 min)
5. Homework on your personal website and quick review of your goals (5 min)

For all levels:
. Total beginners: we start from "Bonjour" and build real confidence fast.
. Intermediate: break the plateau, start thinking in French, master tricky grammar.
. Advanced: polish accent, nuance, idioms, business French.
. Kids and teens: playful sessions with stories, songs, and visuals.

Book your free 45-min trial. By the end you'll have a clear level assessment, your first pronunciation exercise, and access to your new learning website.

À bientôt!

Perfect! I've working with Koka for about 6 months and I can't imagine having a better experience with a teacher. Koka is passionately dedicated to teaching. Our lessons often go on for 2 hours and he often sends me vocabulary and grammar lessons between our sessions. My French has gotten astronomically better in the 6 months I've been working with Koka. And beyond his abilities as a teacher, he is an extremely kind, lovely, and generous person!
