About Spencer
As a missionary, I was entrusted with the coaching and the tutoring of other American missionaries in their process of learning Spanish and was able to help many reach fluency.
My unique approach of having learned Spanish to fluency after only speaking English growing up allows to sympathize with students and understand their concerns.
I am a student at Santa Monica College and plan to transfer to USC this fall. I am majoring in communication with an emphasis on media studies and journalism.

I take an accent reduction approach to teaching Spanish with an immersion technique and an emphasis on oral and written expression.
I intend to focus on the most important grammar rules as well as addressing homework help, etc
After 6+ years of Spanish instruction, I became a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 2 years. As a missionary I spent everyday conversing with strangers on the street and became fully fluent by a combination of pure immersion and formal study. This is where I learned technique in accent reduction.
I completely understand the intense difficulties of learning this language as I went through them myself, and I am sympathetic when it comes to teaching them.
