About Michal
I used to struggle with maths quite a bit as I have dyscalculia. However, my father was a maths-wiz and patiently sat with me working me through all the difficult homework. Thanks to his maths skills and patience I was never discouraged from pursuing STEM. I want to provide a similar experience for the students I tutor. I believe that because I struggled with maths I am a good maths teacher because I can understand where the challenges and misunderstandings are happening. I studied chemistry for undergrad in the US where I was required to take a year of calculus, a year of physics, half a year of physical chemistry, half a year of linear algebra, and statistics. This, I have achieved a high-level of mathematical knowledge and understanding despite my difficulty and diagnosis.

Practice makes perfect! I will create PowerPoint slides that work through math problems in the topics the student struggles with, with step-by-step explanations of how the answer was calculated. I will also provide and work through practice problems with students until they achieve enough confidence to feel they can independently excel on the test!
