About Anna
I'm Anna, a 25-year-old Graduate. I live in Paris, where I've put my degree in English and French to good use. Thanks to this, I'm now fluent in French. It took some trial and error to reach fluency - a lot of silly mistakes and embarrassing interactions! It's all part of the process, and I'd be happy to provide a judgement-free zone for anybody looking to improve their French.
As I'm native English, I can understand the perspective of learning French with an anglophone understanding of grammar. I can also share what I've learnt about French culture, as I also lived in Toulouse for 6 months.
In addition, if it is of interest, I'm happy to share advice about finding work in France, cultural norms in the workplace, when you should 'vouvoyer' or 'tutoyer'... The little details which aren't so familiar as a non-native French speaker.
GCSE/A Level English Lit and Lang: I had a love-hate relationship with English throughout school. I found it really interesting, but I struggled to get my point across in essays. So, I really knuckled down and managed to come out with 9s in English Lit and Lang and an A* in English Lit at A Level. This wasn't by accident! I had a strict routine by the end, and on the day of the exam I walked in feeling like I was about to go to war. I was overprepared and that's how you do it! I'd be happy to share my tips with you.
