About Daniel
I'm Dan, a maths graduate from Churchill College Cambridge looking to support myself through my masters. I've specialised in dynamical systems, fluid dynamics and mathematical biology (that is, stuff that moves and shakes) with a particular interest in ways of visualising and simulating mathematical theorems in a hands on way. Besides my studies, I'm a member of the Churchill College JCR (the college student council) and I work part time at a local care home as a care assistant.

The key to maths is a good understanding of the basics: one of the main issues people have with maths is a shaky foundation which makes learning anything else an uphill struggle. Therefore, before I try and teach or explain any new ideas, I always make sure the groundwork is solid. Moreover, particularly for those aiming for the top grades or seeking further study in STEM, I try to focus on the "why" we do things with just as much weight as the "how". Not only does this allow students to confidently tackle novel and unfamiliar problems, it also allows them to foster a genuine passion for the subject (at least in my entirely unbiased, mathematics at uni, opinion).
