About Dominic
Hi, I’m a Biology tutor and a Cambridge University graduate, with a background in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology. I’ve spent over a decade studying and working in demanding academic environments, but my journey into science wasn’t straightforward.
I was diagnosed with dyslexia and ADHD relatively late, during my GCSEs. For years, I struggled with traditional teaching methods and was often told I wasn’t reaching my potential. Learning how to learn - developing strategies that worked for me - completely changed my relationship with education. That experience is the reason I care so deeply about teaching.
I want to teach because I know first-hand that ability isn’t fixed, and that the right approach can unlock confidence and understanding in students who may feel stuck or discouraged.
My goal as a tutor is to help students feel capable, curious, and confident. I don’t just focus on exam content - I help students build personalised learning methods they can use long after our sessions end.
Outside tutoring, I work in the life sciences, applying biology to real-world projects beyond the classroom, and I’m always happy to share advice on building a successful career in the field.

Following a late diagnosis of dyslexia and ADHD during my GCSEs, I developed highly effective, personalised learning frameworks that transformed how I learn and study. This experience strongly shapes my teaching style. I am particularly experienced in supporting neurodivergent students, helping them build confidence, structure, and strategies that work for how they think – not how textbooks assume they should.
I take a personalised, student-led approach to tutoring. Over the course of our sessions, we will develop individualised methodologies tailored to the student’s learning style, goals, and curriculum, using evidence-based and modern teaching techniques to maximise understanding, retention, and exam performance.
Whether you are aiming to improve confidence, close knowledge gaps, or achieve top grades, I focus on helping students realise their full potential in a supportive, fun, and motivating environment.
