About John
My name is John, and I have spent over 20 years doing exactly what I now teach - communicating, leading, negotiating, and occasionally surviving very long meetings in four different countries and three different languages. I am a Canadian professional with a career spanning healthcare technology, enterprise IT, and international business, having worked at executive and director levels across Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. Safe to say I have sat across the table from a lot of people, in a lot of boardrooms, in a lot of time zones.
I hold a BSc in Business Information Technology, a PMP certification, and enough real world scar tissue to know what actually works when it comes to professional communication, interview performance, and getting things done. I did not learn this stuff in a classroom. I learned it by doing it, over and over, at the highest levels of business.
So why tutoring? Honestly, because watching someone walk into an interview with confidence, or finally nail that email they have been stressing over, or explain a project plan clearly for the first time, that is genuinely exciting to me. There is nothing more satisfying than seeing someone level up.
My lessons are practical, conversational, a little bit fun, and completely tailored to you. No boring drills, no generic scripts, no falling asleep halfway through slide three. Just real skills, real feedback, and real progress.

My Teaching Approach
My lessons are practical, conversational, and built around you, your goals, your industry, and where you want to go in your career. I don't believe in generic textbook English. Everything we work on together has a real-world purpose, whether that's nailing a job interview, writing a compelling CV, leading a meeting with confidence, or simply becoming a more fluent and natural English speaker.
A Typical Lesson
Every lesson starts with a quick check-in, what's happening in your professional life, what challenges came up since we last spoke, and what you want to focus on today. From there we dive in. A session might include role-playing a job interview, reviewing and improving your CV or cover letter, practicing a workplace presentation, working through a project management concept, or simply having a guided professional conversation to build fluency and confidence. Lessons are always flexible and adapted to what you need most that week.

I bring over 20 years of real international career experience across healthcare, technology, government, and enterprise business — working in Canada, the Netherlands, the UK, Germany, and Italy. I'm not just teaching English from a book; I'm sharing the communication skills, professional instincts, and career strategies that I've used at executive level across multiple industries and cultures.
