About Kathyrn
"I sometimes find that students struggle most with the abstract nature of chemical bonding and reaction mechanisms. My degree as an MD candidate at UQ helps me explain the mole concept and stoichiometry through a lens of practical application.
I have spent 5 years refining these explanations for Year 11 and 12 cohorts aiming for elite medicine and dentistry programs. We examine physical chemistry, thermochemistry, and organic chemistry by focusing on conceptual learning rather than rote memorization. Lab and practical work remain integral to understanding how equation balancing works in a real setting. Are you ready to refine your approach to these challenging chemical concepts? "

"The first session begins by walking through a complex stoichiometric calculation until the underlying logic becomes perfectly visible. Drawing upon my MD candidate training, I break down reaction mechanisms and chemical bonding into manageable components that align with the rigorous expectations of the VCE curriculum. We spend significant time on physical chemistry and thermochemistry to ensure that every aspect of the unit is covered with thorough precision and methodical care.
My background allows me to simplify equation balancing and organic chemistry for those aiming for competitive university placements. By the end of our time together, you will possess a structured method for approaching even the most difficult problems, leaving you confident in your ability to solve whatever the examiners provide.
