About Michael
My name is Michael Tyler. I am a first-year engineering student at the University of Canterbury. I graduated from Auckland Grammar last year with 4 A-levels in the Cambridge pathway and 4 NZQA scholarships.
I love teaching and want to help future students find their love for academics the way I have.
I am also tutoring to raise funds for my Beach Volleyball trip this year, where I will represent New Zealand in Europe on the World Tour.

I have tutored for over 4 years. I usually teach lessons based on what the student learns that week in school, or more exam preparation closer to end-of-term.
I have a knack for explaining concepts in multiple different ways such that the student has as many chances to learn as possible. The best way to learn is to teach, so I will occasionally have the student teach me something they just learned, especially at the end of lessons.

I think Michael is a trustworthy tutor because I have know him for a very long time and have really got to know him well. Michael is a hardworking, dedicated and bright learner which he always brings to tutoring to help other develop there own knowledge by make it really easy to understand what we are learning or studying. I recommend him because he had a very in depth understanding of all the concepts that he has learnt which he can explain to others so they understand very easily. This is super important for tutoring as you want to fully understand all the topics to give the best return the students being tutored.
I was tutored by Michael in AS level Maths last year. He was always on time and patient with me even when the questions were hard. I would recommend him as a tutor since he knows the material and explains it well to me when I am struggling.
