About Elizabeth
Hi there! I’m a certified secondary English Language Arts teacher with over a decade of classroom experience and a passion for helping students succeed—especially those who’ve struggled with reading and writing in the past. I currently serve as an ELA department chair, literacy coach, and STAAR intervention specialist, and I’ve helped dramatically improve student outcomes in my district. I believe that every learner is capable of growth with the right support. My teaching style blends structure with encouragement, and I’m known for building strong relationships with my students while guiding them to real, measurable progress. My approach combines empathy, structure, and strategy. I specialize in supporting secondary students—especially reluctant readers and writers—by meeting them where they are and using real-world literacy skills to build confidence and mastery.
Each session includes a quick check-in, targeted mini-lesson, guided practice, and feedback. I focus on practical reading and writing strategies, STAAR success, and long-term growth. I use scaffolded instruction, high-interest texts, and consistent routines that help students feel safe, challenged, and capable.
