About Emily
As someone with an undergraduate degree in environmental sciences and philosophy, I have a broad educational background in both the sciences and liberal arts. I am working towards my PhD and have three years of teaching experience at the university level. Former students have described my teaching style as patient, clear and easy to understand, responsive to student needs, and efficient.
I currently reside in Irvine, CA, where I enjoy hiking, running, and ice skating in my free time.
I was homeschooled prior to college and so have personal experience successfully navigating the college admissions landscape as a homeschooler. If your homeschooled student is applying to college, I can provide unique insights to help support you through this process.

I can assist your high-school-aged student with any or all of the following, depending on your needs:
-*test preparation for all sections of the SAT and ACT exams.* I personally scored a 34 composite on the ACT shortly after my 16th birthday. I then won the National Merit Scholarship in Hawaii with a PSAT score of 219/240. I gained entrance to many prestigious PhD programs with a GRE score of 333/340.
-*revising, editing, and polishing admissions essays.* I am familiar with what admissions committees and scholarship committees look for in these essays at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. I also have substantial prior experience assisting my university students with essay revisions.
