I am a piano performance and chemistry student attending the Eastman School of Music in New York. I have studied under the tutelage of Juilliard and Eastman grads and have received masterclasses from a variety of piano masters such as Menahem Pressler.

Before anything, piano to me is about understanding the music, as well as learning to play comfortably. It is very hard to play the sounds you desire if you can’t play comfortably. In addition to teaching repertoire, I believe in the importance of learning music theory, aural training, and sightreading.

James is an exceptionally talented musician and pianist with great knowledge and love of music. He has a positive and encouraging approach and effective teaching methods to help his students not only learn how to play the piano but also to love playing the piano and sharing love of music with others.
