About Emily

Started playing piano at age 3. I took lessons from age 5 on Canada Day of 2004. I have self-taught myself how to compose music from age 7 and improvise music since the age of 5. I used to copy what I heard my brother play on his piano. I learned to play grade 7 and 9 pieces from age 9. I know how to sing, play guitar, clarinet, recorder (professionally), ukulele, guzheng, drums, harmonica, lyre harp, pipe organ, violin, trumpet, Chinese bamboo flute, and piano. I was a student of multiple famous virtuoso piano teachers in the last 20 years. I was raised in a musical family and I know what it takes to be a musician as a career as well as a worker who does music as a hobby. I love music and made many compositions to express it. I know creative ways to teach young children musical concepts that I once had trouble understanding. I know how to get kids to master piano healthily as I am a nurse student who studied many health care programs. I know everything about health and healing power of music so I can show my students how great music can be for them. In addition, I am an award-winning author of the book called Master It which is published on Amazon. I am also the CEO of my companies MissCaregiver and Vesli Studio which helps people learn and heal through music. I also want to help millions or even billions of people become healthy again and educated again. My goal in life is to spread the music of the heavens to the entire planet so people can become holy again. Also, I love to teach youths how to apply their piano lessons and their new learnt skills to their real life world; whether that is in their school academics, improving their learning speed in other extra curricular activities, and workplace life so they can level up their positions or become employee of the month with their new found learning efficiency and diligence. I like to make sure all of my students excel in their lives outside of class so they make the most out of them. I like to teach students these days using a routine where (depending on the level of learning ability is) we start out with checking on the week, making sure the student is staying on top of daily practicing responsibilities and also resolving any issues that might be getting in their way, or I’ll listen to them and then help the student figure out a way together to make a better week ahead so that they will be more willing to do their practice with ease. Then I move on to the usual class materials covered each time, either it is repertoire songs and technical (for the young starters) or for more serious learners, more or less the entire list of materials usually required to be covered for RCM exams (technical requirements; optional hand agility drills like hanon, dozen a day and alfred cortot; four star book, then repertoire/etudes, then interesting music history videos or fascinating music theory lessons and then we go over the class summary and I assign you your week’s daily practice homework and go over ways to help you stay excited for your daily piano learning whenever you practice. If you are a young child, I would reward you based on your good behavior and learning achievements in class, and offer a lot of cool treats, award winnings, and fun stuff toys to play with while the adults talk (lol). And help the parent find affective ways to achieve seeing the desired improvements in their child (such as asking students to journal each day the interesting or funny things they discovered while practicing or help the students find an accountable friend to encourage them practice more each day with a little who can stay focused the longest at the piano and learn their piano homework faster competition). I also encourage adult students to find creative ways to motivate themselves to jump in their practice each day and make it become an added automatic habit (which I teach from the atomic habits book for my inspirations). And then on some weeks we may discuss payments and our future plans for the class. Know that I accept most kinds of payment plans people offer and I usually will accommodate to you. If you need financial assistance or help with affording the cost of the lessons, I can offer some lower pricing points but it comes with a small assessment of your current financial situation and then we come up with a plan to help you increase your income in the future so you don’t continue growing the debt to me each class. I also will offer ways to help you find sources of extra income and find music related jobs or careers and income sources from selling recordings and compositions if you are desperately looking for ways to pay for the lesson fees. I can also help you learn how to teach piano so you can get started on that side gig or career as well as an option in my piano lesson packages. In any cases we can make it work for you, I do not wish to have money be a reason you can’t take my lessons, however I do not sell myself short either to make things super cheap to buy (because I need to profit too). Anyhow, the quality of my lessons are super excellent according to 92% of every single of my past students’ reviews (since the beginning of my teaching career). (The other 8% were my earlier students whom were my guinnea pigs in the teaching learning experience… so I was new to the different student’s situations and did not know how to respond to certain situations back then as a preteen and as a teaching assistant-student teacher.) If anything I now have 15 years of teaching experience and I am only in my late 20s. I know very well now how to adapt to various student’s schedules, behaviors, habits, life difficulties and learning styles to help every single student improve regardless of IQ, learning skills, musical experience, disabilities and more. I really put the E in effort when it comes to putting the student first in every lesson. I make sure every student whether young or old enjoys their lesson experience and found them interesting to their taste. I like every student to be heard and to make sure they really understand what the makings of a good pianist really procure. With that said, I hope you choose to take lessons with me for your future musical education journey and I hope to see you in class~ Miss Emily Li. I am great at solving problems students have in piano like finding the right hand technique, rhythm, and developing sight-reading skills. I am great at getting ADHD and autistic kids to calm down and focus. I also have much experience with teaching both seniors, adults, teens, and kids. I study a lot about composers' biographies and their compositions' backstories. I love inspiring disabled students and students with learning challenges with my music and story. I help people find their passions and love of music through philosophical lessons given and my musical demonstrations. I show students how to practice piano daily with ease and how to find classical music enjoyable. I love showing children and their parents how music lessons can transfer to their daily lives and their work and school lives. I also help students create their own music and learn music quickly. They will be able to compete in local festivals and competitions if applicable. Most of my students progress quickly and skillfully in their piano knowledge. I give a holistic piano education.

These prices are just starting prices. If you are advanced students, or students from another city, or are students that needs specific financial assistance adjustments, this will be different price points for you. In general speaking, if you are following the listed prices above, the pricing method I go by is : pay in advanced (5 hours a month minimum), I offer 10% off if you use cash for payments and $100 off for 2 months in advanced payments (whether using cash or e transfer). Also, I offer half price the travel distance if you come learn at my square one studio instead of at your home if your place is beyond the Hurontario and Derry road / Winston Churchill and Dundas / central parkway and burnhamthorpe road areas (as it is too inconvenient for me to commute beyond there for the profit and time traveling length to make it worth the trip). If traveling to the studio is too far for you, you can opt for online lessons only or we can try to find a place with a free public piano that meets half way between both parties’ distances like at a trusted church I know or at some public revenue like a library or a closed door room in a piano store… also you can purchase my soon to be published online piano course and piano books for your own self paced learning if in person lessons are just not working out due to the long distance and other travel costs. We can always make it work for you! Anyways, always ask me directly for other details about pricing options or special pricing requests if you need. I am available to respond online all day unless it is a work day for me at the hospice or at another facility. I will definitely reply by 12:30 am at night if it is on those specific dates. If you need more details for my different pricing details for specific type of students’ lesson packages, look at the bottom of the “about me” section to find out more. Take care! I hope we can ensure money won’t stop you from learning with me~
