Hey, there! My name is Leo, and I am one first year Dalyell scholar at University of Sydney majoring in Data Science and Financial Mathematics and Statistics. I entered the university in semester 2, 2021 with ATAR 99.95, and received the Vice- Chancellor’s International Scholarship for $20,000.
I am good at Mathematics and Economics. In high school, I took the AP exams in Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and got full marks for all. Besides, in semester 2, 2021 in University of Sydney, I took 6 courses (30 credit points), got HD for all the subjects I have taken, and the average score for 6 courses is 91.5. In the Math fields, I got 93 in MATH1021 (calculus) and 94 in MATH1014 (linear algebra). For my second semester, I also get all HD for subjects taken. Get 96( top1 ) in microeconomics, 94 in algorithm, 91 in probability statistics, 89 in database and sql. In this way, I am confident that I am professional in Math knowledge and have the thorough understanding towards the theories and reasons underlying. Also, I believe Math is not about memorizing formulas and notations, but reflecting and understanding the logic and process.
Moreover, for the experience of teaching, I have tutored in TOFEL, SAT 1, AP Economics, and AP Calculus for 2 years when I was in high school. Therefore, I am experienced and passionate in tutoring packed with capabilities of accurately expressing the ideas, and perfectly communicating with students.
Even though I am passionate in studying, I am not dominated or governed by studying. Instead, I have a lot of hobbies, such as playing basketball (fans of GSW!), calligraphy, etc. For me, studying is not all for life. However, it is critical to improve our efficiency, and try to reach the balance between the study and life.
