About Alice
I am a writer and an artist from South Africa. I have taught English conversation and writing skills in South Korea to various nationalities. I have taught children and adults, beginners and experienced speakers. My students improved their grades by up to 2 symbols and also became more confident in communicating their ideas effectively. I believe in using my students' existing skills to build new skills and understanding. I believe strongly that ESL students can take pride in their English ability by joining my classes.

In beginning a new class topic, I first ask my students what they know about this topic and to write down those points. We then go over what they know and, in the case of a writing class, we will analyse sentence structure. We will then move onto the day's reading activity, followed by a short discussion on new concepts introduced. We will then do a writing exercise and go over that exercise making the required corrections. For writing skills I find journal keeping and reading to be very helpful. Students are invited to read and write about topics that interest them and to share with their class.
