As a current high school administrator with over 25 years of experience in education, I bring a unique blend of classroom expertise, academic leadership, and deep familiarity with AP-level instruction to every tutoring session. I specialize in AP U.S. History, U.S. Government, and Psychology, and offer highly individualized virtual support for high school students — especially those preparing for college admissions or balancing academics with athletics.
My Teaching Approach
I focus on building critical thinking, essay writing, and exam strategies tailored to each student’s learning style. Whether we’re tackling a DBQ, decoding multiple-choice logic, or making real-world connections to complex political theory, I strive to make content engaging, accessible, and relevant.
A Typical Lesson Plan
Each session begins with a check-in on current coursework and goals, followed by a review of targeted content (lectures, case studies, or guided reading), skill-building activities (timed writing, Socratic dialogue, and quiz breakdowns), and concludes with actionable feedback and next steps. Students leave each lesson with a clearer understanding and increased confidence.
What Sets Me Apart
Beyond subject mastery, I bring insight into what schools and colleges look for in candidates. As an AP Coordinator and experienced administrator, I understand how to support students under academic pressure — especially student-athletes navigating time constraints or the stress of college applications. My sessions also incorporate executive functioning support, including time management, note-taking, and test preparation strategies.
