About Minha
Hi! My name is Minha and I am a current Duke Undergraduate majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I have received tutoring many times and always found the one-on-one teaching style to help me the most. I always listened in school lectures, but a lot of the time (especially in math) the information would go right over my head. However, going through practice problems and tests was what brought me to my successes. I am a strong believer in practice makes perfect and that would not have been possible without my tutors.
As a younger student, I could not see this importance, I would just do the extra worksheets my tutors gave me and always thought it was so unfair that I would have to do extra work that my friends did not have to do. But now, I realize that math is muscle memory. There needs to be extra practice in order to really engrave skills into the brain. Especially with a subject like math where the topics constantly build off of each other, having a strong foundation is key. As a tutor, I would love to show students the importance of going that extra step.
