About Tomas
I’ve worked with students of all ages in both China and the UK teaching online and in person and I genuinely enjoy helping learners feel more confident. I speak English and Spanish fluently and a good amount of Chinese which helps me connect with a wide range of families. I’m familiar with the IGCSE, A-Level and IB systems so I understand how these courses are structured and what students need to succeed. My lessons are designed around each student’s specific goals and I check progress regularly so they can see clear improvement. One of the reasons I teach is because I had a tutor when I was younger who helped me learn far faster than I ever could in the classroom. That experience made a huge difference to me and it’s something I want to offer to other students. I aim to create an environment where learners can grow at a pace that feels exciting and achievable, and I consistently challenge them to push their skills further. My teaching style is calm, friendly and easy to follow. I explain ideas in simple steps, answer every question with patience and encourage students to build confidence lesson by lesson. I give honest, supportive feedback and adapt the pace depending on what the student needs that day. I’m currently studying at the University of Manchester and I bring a positive, student-focused approach to every class. My goal is to help learners progress faster than they expect and feel proud of how much they’re capable of.
