About Sumanjana
As someone who has struggled to find study methods and understanding concepts, I really empathize with students and try to help them from their point of view. This is why personalized tutoring is the focal point of my lessons. I'm a firm believer that there is know single way to help everyone retain the same knowledge, and the research and struggles I went through as a student to find my primary study method allowed me to share my knowledge to everyone else, and give everyone the most useful educational experience.

As a tutor with experience teaching at Kumon and personally trained to teach young kids, I have a strong foundation to provide effective English and Math lessons. I have experience teaching kids from the ages 2 - 13, and I have taught almost all levels of English and all levels of Math up to Pre-Calculus. As a college student, I have experience switching between many tutors for test-prep, whether that be the SAT or the ACT, and have developed many ideal methods to improve general test-taking skills.
I approach every student in a different way, by first assessing the student's current level of proficiency in the subject. Then I tailor the lesson plan to their specific needs. I also try to figure out the students most effective learning style so that I can adapt my teaching methods accordingly. I implement these and set short-term and long term goals with the student and their parents/guardians, so that it helps in tracking progress and keeping everyone motivated.
