About Rupert
Thirty years experience tutoring and lecturing at universities in England and overseas in Hong Kong and at China’s premier institution, The Harbin Institute of Technology, where I was Full Professor and Associate Dean until retirement. *A thorough understanding of the criteria and process for university entry for students and staff.
*Highly proficient with the subject matter in the social sciences, including development studies, economics, history, politics, geography, anthropology, and sociology. My specialist interest is in Asian studies (economic, social, and political change and development), with a focus on China and the Philippines.
*I believe strongly in blending pastoral and academic care. I assume each and every student is, from the start, capable of excellent results. Mentees have assumed prominent roles in in government, civil service, the United Nations, embassies, multinational corporations, and established their own businesses.
