About Jerome

Jerome Martin has been playing drums since the age of 8 . Jerome grew up playing drums at his church . He would travel locally playing at different churches as he attended Dillard High School . Jerome purchased his first drum set at the age of 18 . After graduating high school , Jerome decided to travel to Orlando to expand musically. Jerome enjoys playing Reggae , R&B , Jazz , and Gospel. Jerome is currently playing for a few amount of bands in Orlando as he continues his career path towards College studying Music Performance. At the age of 21 Jerome starts to finally see that pursuing music full time is what he wants to do. Jerome was granted the opportunity to be a finalist in the Florida Musical Festival Drum Off competition. Jerome has been in numerous amount of studio sessions and looking forward to see plenty more. Jerome has been teaching music for a while and has an insight of what it means to share a gift to a student.

About the lesson

The things students would expect from me in a lesson would be the concept of keeping time with a metronome. Playing grooves that the student enjoys to hear. Using rudiments which would build creativity in the students playing. Exercises that building the strength of the student's wrist . The basic concepts of reading sheet music . And mainly to have fun playing over songs the student loves listening to.
My lessons are for all students who aim to have fun playing drums.

Jerome is such an incredibly solid player. I was singing in a band when I met him and was impressed by his skills. He is so on time and in the pocket. Gave the songs a great foundation to sing to. I think his students will learn so much and be amazing like him!

Jerome is highly skilled, patient, and a man of integrity. I’ve worked with him for 3 years — he is a consistent guy. He’s on time for performances, professional, good with communication, and ALWAYS brings the energy and special touch to each show. He’s my most trusted drummer; I’m gonna call him first! Great team member in performing and in the creative process. He “gets it” musically!
