About Jill

I am a wife and mom to a spirited teenager and two dogs. I have three advanced degrees (EdD, MBA, EdM) and a lot of experience across the education industry, but I've always drawn my energy from students. I started teaching right out of college and some of my best memories are from the elementary, high school and college classroom. Teaching brings me joy!

I am excited to get to get to know you and support your educational needs. I am very easy-going, fun, and teach using a strengths-based approach. I believe that the only dumb question is a question not asked.

About the lesson

I am an experienced hands-on educator, and my philosophy is that all students learn in different ways. The key to success is tailoring instruction to individual learners and using an asset-based approach. I have experience teaching ESL on a college level, as well as ESL students in elementary and middle school. The instructional methods I've used or are familiar with include: project-based learning, direct instruction/lecture and seminar style.
