About Ashima
As a senior Biomedical Engineering student at Texas A&M University, I have a strong academic background in mathematics and experience applying mathematical concepts to challenging engineering problems. I understand that math can feel intimidating, so I strive to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and working through mistakes.
I am dependable, organized, and committed to adapting my teaching style to each student’s individual needs. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades, but also to strengthen their problem-solving skills and build confidence in their own abilities. I aim to make every lesson productive, supportive, and engaging while maintaining a professional and respectful learning environment.

My approach to tutoring is centered on making math understandable, approachable, and relevant to each student’s individual learning style. I focus on building a strong understanding of core concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures. During a typical lesson, I begin by identifying areas of difficulty, explain the concept step-by-step, work through examples with the student, and then allow them to solve problems independently with guidance as needed.
I adapt my teaching methods based on each student’s age, confidence level, and current coursework. What sets me apart is my engineering background and experience applying math to real-world problems, which allows me to explain not only how a method works, but why it works. I am comfortable tutoring students from elementary through high school, including foundational arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and other K–12 math subjects.
