About Linh
I am a chemical engineering major/ computer science minor at the University of Connecticut. I'm currently in my third year. I am also an international student from Vietnam, and I have been speaking English since I was three years old. My mom was an English professor in Vietnam, and she is the reason why I excel in learning a foreign language such as English. Every summer, I volunteered tutoring Vietnamese students English as a Second Language. My students mostly come from a harsh demographic. Some of them were Agent Orange affected orphans. Some of them had bypassed a flood everyday during rain season in Vietnam to come to my free English lesson. I love my students because they all come to me with a passion for learning. I had the opportunity to teach professionally last summer, and I enjoyed every bit of it. I think that teaching and mentoring others is a very rewarding experience.

I am pretty tech savvy, so I want to incorporate online resources and software as much as possible when it comes to teaching English. I often use a google calendar to send homework reminders, and shared folder devices such as google drive and slack to check the students' work. I also like to analyze my strategies with my students to figure out what is their learning style, what is their comfort zone to tailor the best lesson plan.
