• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  I've always enjoyed teaching and explaining things to others, whether it was helping my cousins with their homework, or helping someone learn English. It brings me genuine joy to know that I was able to help someone else achieve their goals no matter how little or big they may be.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  Languages have been my passion since childhood. Since childhood, I was able to pick up new words from TV or my family members and learn multiple languages at the same time. I later went on to study as an English Honours and French minor to pursue my passion for languages and writing. To better improve myself as an ESL teacher, I received the TEFL certification.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  What I like most about tutoring is that there is no rigid cookie-cutter curriculum that I have to follow. Yes, we go over the necessary assignments and prepare for tests, but tutoring gives me a chance to make things engaging and amusing for my students. I can slow down or move ahead depending on how the student is doing without having to worry about completing the program and 25 other children in the class. I can really help the student in a way that works best for them.
  
  One of my strengths is understanding people and the second is getting things done, efficiently. Meaning, when a mew student comes to class, it doesn't take me long to understand, based on their behavior, speech, and prior experience, how I should help them. Once that is clear, I don't waist time and we get to work.

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

  One of my many role models was my university thesis supervisor, who taught and inspired me to give your best in class, even if half the students aren't paying attention, because you work hard for the 10% who value you. She taught me how to love writing and how to actually write, and I always try to follow her steps in that. She is positive no matter how busy or hard times get, and I find that extremely inspiring and resilient.

• What are your keys to success?

  My keys to success are setting goals and following them through, as easy and cliche as that sounds. Once I have a goal in mind or something I want to achieve, I write out a plan of action and follow-through. However, the key is to keep following through on good and bad days, even if I don't feel like it. Consistency is key in achieving anything.
