About Robert
I'm a former award-nominated print journalist, who returned to teaching after six years working at national and regional newspapers in the UK. I have previously tutored English language to students preparing their GCSE English language exams in the UK and I have also worked as an English language assistant, providing support to ESL Students at secondary school and college level in France. I graduated with an upper second class honors (2:1) in English Literature and French from the University of Manchester in 2018. My dissertation explored the formation of Canadian national identity in the works of Margaret Atwood.

I emphasize facilitation-focused teaching during my lessons, guiding students to reach answers of their own accord through activities and discussions. I encourage my students to think critically and support their progress by providing resources to work through and questions to help them think through new concepts.
