About Karen
Hello,
I am a young and newly qualified Secondary school English Teacher and have been very successful tutoring English Language and Literature, as well as A Level Sociology, over the past year.
English is my first language and I have studied English Literature at degree level and then PGCE Secondary English. My tutoring is to a very high standard as I teach classes of up to 33 students at a time and am used to catering lessons and content for a range of abilities. I am extremely enthusiastic and creative, which keeps students engaged and stops them from hiding upstairs when the tutor arrives!
I am currently employed at a South London secondary school and would like to tutor over the summer holidays but can continue this into term time.
I charge £30 an hour for GCSE/A Level or £25 an hour for students at KS2/KS3 - which includes me providing revision resources and equipment, although if I have to travel far then this may cost more. This is cheaper than most qualified teachers will charge but I hope to make tutoring accessible for children from a range of backgrounds.
I am willing to travel around South London and will always tutor at your home (in a communal area with a parent present in the house).
The first session is half price for you to see if your child responds well to my teaching methods and I am available on weekdays and any time on weekends.
