About Elizabeth
I am a former certified English teacher (grades 6-12 in the U.S.) with extensive experience tutoring all ages, from first grade phonics to adult ESL. As a Fellow at a university Center for Writing and Scholarship, I created and led writing workshops and tutored graduate students across programs. I also taught English classes K-12 in Ukraine as a Peace Corps volunteer, and as an AmeriCorps member I managed a tutoring center for children that struggled with reading. Currently I work in academic publishing. I love helping students cultivate skill, joy, and confidence in their language abilities!
My teaching style is informed by the classical education tradition. Classical education requires the study and emulation of excellent works and methods that have withstood the test of time.

I appreciate how a relationship can be built and the lesson can be customized when tutoring one-on-one. Perfect! We have had a great experience with Elizabeth. She did a thorough analysis for our son’s strengths and opportunities and recommended a well thought out plan.
