About Ainhoa

I would like to apply for the post of Spanish Teacher, I believe I have the relevant qualifications, knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the post. I have a Master degree in journalism in Spain recognised by NARIC as a BA (Honours). I possess good literacy and numeracy skills both of which were essential to complete my PGCE In-service level 7. I have a grade C in GCSE maths and I did A2 in Literacy. I did PTTLS in March 2008. Also, I did my PGCE from the Institute of Education, IOE, University of London in 2010 and I achieved the QTLS in April 2012 which is equivalent to the QTS. I have been a member of the Society for Learning and training (SET) before Institute for Learning, since 2007. I have experience working with children, teenagers and adults with SEN and have a current DSB and First Aid certificate which is valid until 2021. I have several trainings about the teaching of the language and different policies, for instance Prevent.
I have been working as aTeacher of Spanish and French in secondary teaching Spanish until GCSE level. Also I am a Teacher in Primary schools, secondaries and college in London. I have experience teaching Spanis GCSE, AS and A2 with Edexcel. I have been awarded outstanding teacher teaching GCSE and beginners Spanish for Learning Trust and good for Ofsted. I attend anually workshops and trainnings in order to improve my CPD. I like learning new skills and I accept advice for other profesionals and colleagues. I like to improve my skills and my classes.
I aware of the changes in the curriculum and I adapt my classes to the new requirements in order to improve the opportunities of the students when they have examinations.
Having worked in different Primary and Secondary schools, I consider myself to have extensive knowledge of child development. I am aware of the main developmental stages at different ages: physical, intellectual, psychological and emotional. As well as issues related to underachievement of children and policies of child protection such as Work together. I have the ability to help them to develop to their potential in different aspects of their learning such as cognitive and individual learning and I am conscious of the maintainance of pupils safety and security. I am aware of pupils' diverse needs, backgrounds and aptitudes for learning.. I understand different expectations at each level across the school and the different needs of the students. Also I like to promote the inclusion of all the students and motivate to them to interact with others. I have experiencde working with underachieving and SEN pupils. I can use some strategies and I can learn others in order to help them always being in communication with parents.
I used to work as a journalist in radio and writing for magazines so I have a lot experience with the grammar and I have a great knowledge of how the language is working. I use a high variety of resources in order to cover all the different styles of learning. Also we do listenings, writing, speaking and reading. I use differentiation in order to help the students to achive their best. I use technics for visual, kinesthetic and auditory: using rhymes, read aloud, maps…
I try to promote and accept the diffences between people, always promoting the respect of the students and the inclusion of all of them in the class and lessons. I try to involve the students in each lesson and provide lessons useful and intersting for all of them. I accept suggestions and I can modify the topics of my lesson in order to cover my students interests. Also my lesson have embedded other subjects such math, geograhy .
I have been working as a journalist in radio and magazines where clear and effective communication is essential. I try to present my ideas clearly and I try different approaches to different learners. I try to communicate using polite and positive language and use a variety of vocabulary with the students to engage them. I used to write for magazines and prepare the news and interviews for my radio programmes, so I consider myself capable to give good advice and guidance to the students about writing and communication
I am familiar with technology in the classroom because I use it when I am teaching. I use Interactive White Board, computer, video, I-Pad and photocopier. I am familiar with the Scheme of Work and lesson plans and I feel that they are both important when planning lessons in order to meet the needs of the students. Schemes of work and lesson plans are a good guide and essential in the observations of our work for staff and inspectors. Also, I aware that people learning different ways, for example, giving them more audiovisual support. It is my intention to cover the necessities of all the students in the class so I use the different approaches, resources and supports. I apply differentiation and extended tasks. All of this is reflected in the lesson plans.
I am a committed, confident and qualified Teacher with a friendly, outgoing nature. I am capable of working on my own as well as being part of a team. I am a quick learner and perform well under pressure. I consider myself to be highly organised, motivated, ambitious and reliable as well as optimist and energetic. I want to achieve the best results and I have sense of humour which It is essential to deal with some of the situation in the school. I have travelled and lived in several places and consider myself to be adaptable to a variety of cultures and environments. I consider myself to have a natural ability to relate to children and adults. My experience as a a teacher and a parent have strengthened my ability to empathise and understand and to view situations compassionately from a wide range of perspectives.
