About George
I have taught English in the U.S. and in Russia in classroom settings, reaching well over 500 students in total over a ten year period. My TOEFL students have all eventually achieved their scores and moved on to university programs or careers, and others went on to earn U.S. Citizenship. I am especially focused on improving oral communication skills, intercultural communication, and university preparation.

I am a proponent of Communicative Language Teaching, which approaches language learning primarily for the purpose of communicating with others, and I therefore draw heavily on exercises for expressing meaning. Because language is a social skill, I rely a great deal on peer work and task-based activities. I also strongly encourage students to take charge of their own learning by asking questions, experimenting with the language, and sharing their experiences.
