About Leona

Hello, I'm Leona. I am a Business and communication instructor, academic advisor, trainer, and educator with more than 15 years of experience helping students and professionals achieve their educational, career, and personal development goals. I hold a bachelor's degree in Professional Communication and have extensive experience in training, career development, program coordination, student success, and adult learning. I also hold a Master's in Business Administration, empowering students with business concepts and ideas.

My passion is helping students gain confidence by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and creating personalized strategies that support lasting success. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to fit individual learning styles, strengths, goals, and challenges. My approach combines practical instruction, encouragement, organization strategies, and real-world application to help students understand the material and retain what they learn.

Whether you need support with communication, business concepts, study skills, organization, presentations, academic success strategies, or professional development, I am committed to creating a positive, engaging, and results-oriented learning environment. My goal is not only to help students improve their performance but also to develop the confidence, critical-thinking skills, and self-sufficiency needed for long-term success.

I believe learning should be approachable, encouraging, and empowering. Together, we will create a plan that builds on your strengths, addresses your challenges, and helps you achieve your academic and professional goals with confidence.

My lessons are designed to help students simplify complex concepts, build confidence, and develop practical strategies for long-term academic success. I use a student-centered teaching approach that focuses on organization, communication, critical thinking, and personalized learning techniques tailored to each student's unique needs and goals.

A typical lesson begins with identifying the student's objectives, strengths, and challenges. From there, we work through targeted instruction, guided practice, real-world examples, and actionable strategies that can be applied beyond our sessions. I believe students learn best when they understand not only what to do, but also why it matters.

What sets me apart is my extensive background in education, training, academic advising, business and career development, and professional communication. This experience allows me to help students connect classroom learning with real-world application while developing skills that support both academic and professional success.

My lessons are ideal for high school students, college students, adult learners, and professionals seeking to strengthen their communication skills, study habits, organization, presentations, critical thinking, and overall confidence in learning.
