About Ben

I'm a clarinettist, arranger, and producer working regularly in orchestral, chamber music and contemporary music around London and across the UK. I completed my Masters degree at Trinity Laban. I have extensive experience working as a performer, appearing in concerts across the UK in venues such as Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre and Royal Albert Hall and touring across Europe and Asia. I have had the privilege to work with renowned ensembles, including Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic, English National Ballet, Waldstein Trio, Rosenberg Ensemble and Triangulum.

As a teacher with 10+ years of experience I have taught across a wide variety of settings, working with people of all ages and abilities, whether it be 1:1 lessons, EYFS, whole class and group learning, community workshops, elderly outreach and more. I have been a Clarinet Teacher at Junior Trinity for 3 years and have worked in schools in Tower Hamlets and Lewisham.

For me, music is about having fun alongside the excitement of learning new things. I provide a tailored learning experience for you, whether you want tuition through ABRSM/TCL grade syllabuses or any piece you wish to learn just for fun.

Progress is an important aspect of each lesson and I challenge pupils to push them to be the best musician they can be, whilst taking each pupil's strengths, needs, and weaknesses into account. I believe a strong technique is the key to unlocking the most out of your music making and makes learning more enjoyable.

I can teach up to Grade 8 theory and can provide aural/listening training. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and up-to-date safeguarding training. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me!
