About Laurena
I am an experienced English tutor with a passion for teaching and a deep love of the subject. I’m currently nearing the completion of my degree in Sociology, which has only increased my desire to teach and make learning accessible and engaging for all. I believe everyone deserves the chance to enjoy learning and reach their full potential, regardless of their starting point. It’s incredibly fulfilling to watch students grow in confidence and achieve their goals, especially when all they needed was a little extra support and a dedicated teacher in their corner. My approach is always student-centred, supportive, and adaptable. I’m here to guide, encourage, and personalise each step of the journey—because with the right guidance, learning can be empowering, enjoyable, and even fun.

Every student learns differently, and that's exactly why I tailor each 1-hour lesson to suit each student's individual learning style. In our first session we will explore how you learn best—whether through discussion, visual support, writing tasks, or hands-on activities. This allows for me to create engaging lessons suited specifically for the student. Depending on the topic, we might have deep, discussion-based lessons, practical tasks, or even moments where the student takes the lead—teaching the material back to ensure it's fully understood. Lessons will be collaborative and flexible, designed for learners of any age up until GCSE level. You'll also receive work packs to be completed outside of sessions and receive support from me between sessions if needs be at no extra cost. Most importantly I believe in building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable, confident and excited to learn.

Laurena is such a wonderful tutor and person. She’s a great listener who creates a judgment-free space, which made me feel completely comfortable opening up and practicing my English without fear of making mistakes. Her warm personality and sense of humor always make our sessions enjoyable.
I know Lauren through working at a children’s nursery throughout our studies. Laurena is a supportive and educated young woman who is dedicated to ensuring the needs of the children she works with. She is extremely well organised and hard working.
