About Gia
I was a military instructor for 16 years, and taught students from all over the world very difficult military concepts. Many of my students were ESL students. In order to help students understand and apply military concepts, I relied heavily on relevant pop culture or civilian examples to help them understand. I also ensured that my students connected to the courseware through their own experiences which helped them remember what they were taught.

My personal philosophy is that lessons should be a two way experience -- the instructor and the learner should have a relationship where the student is comfortable and respected while being challenged. Teachers should be open to adapting to the students' learning style and cultural differences to enable mutual respect. I tend to use popular culture and student's own interest to make lessons relevant and interesting to positively engage the student in the learning process. I specialize in teaching students 17 years and older.
