About Robin
I am an experienced secondary educator and current Headteacher with a strong track record of improving outcomes in mathematics and helping young people achieve more than they thought possible.
Throughout my career I have taught GCSE Maths, supported students preparing for examinations and led significant improvements in results. I particularly enjoy working with students who have lost confidence in maths, helping them break problems down, understand the underlying concepts and experience success again.
I am calm, encouraging and highly ambitious for the students I teach. I believe that with the right explanation, practice and support, every student can make meaningful progress.
I offer online tuition primarily for Years 9–11, whether a student needs to secure the fundamentals, achieve a Grade 4 or 5, or push towards the highest GCSE grades.

My lessons are structured, focused and built around the individual student. I start by identifying gaps in knowledge and confidence, then break difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps before moving into guided practice and exam-style questions.
I have extensive experience teaching and improving outcomes in secondary mathematics and now work as a Headteacher. My approach combines strong subject knowledge with an understanding of how young people learn, what holds them back and how to build confidence.
A typical 60-minute lesson includes retrieval, clear teaching and modelling, supported practice, independent questions and targeted feedback. I place particular emphasis on GCSE exam technique, common misconceptions and helping students understand why a method works rather than simply memorising it.
Lessons are aimed primarily at Years 9–11, including students who lack confidence, need to secure a Grade 4/5, or want to push towards the higher grades.
