I’m a UBC Mathematics graduate with 10 years of tutoring experience, specializing in high school math. My professional experience as a Senior Analyst strengthens my analytical and problem-solving approach, allowing me to explain challenging concepts clearly while helping students build confidence and succeed.

Every student learns differently, which is why I tailor my lessons to their pace and individual needs. Whether a student is ahead of their class, right on track, or struggling to catch up, I meet them where they are and build from there. I place a strong emphasis on understanding the fundamentals behind each concept. When students have a solid foundation, difficult material becomes much more manageable - and their confidence grows with it.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and genuinely understanding the math rather than simply memorizing steps. I care deeply about my students’ progress and make it my priority to help them become confident, capable, and independent learners.

Ever since I moved to my high school as a new student, Vera has always stood out to me as someone who many people looked up to. Her academic standing in school is outstanding, as well as her involvement within the school and community. She has been a part of many volunteer organizations working with young children, as well as takes on a great leadership role within the peer mentoring program at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School, where her teaching skills and interactions with her peers do not go unnoticed.
