About Karine
I am Brazilian, born in São Paulo, and I later moved to Florianópolis, a beautiful island in the south of Brazil. I am the daughter of Korean parents, but Portuguese is my native language and my mother tongue.
I also moved to Italy for an exchange program, where I learned some Italian and improved my English. Living abroad allowed me to understand what it feels like to learn a new language and face pronunciation challenges. I realized how complex Portuguese pronunciation can be, especially because of its unique sounds and different phonemes.
Because of this experience, I have always enjoyed helping my friends learn Portuguese and improve their pronunciation. I understand the common difficulties learners face, and I am patient and supportive when guiding students to speak more clearly and confidently.

My lessons are mainly focused on conversation because I truly believe that speaking regularly is the fastest and most effective way to learn a language. When students actively use the language in real-life situations, they gain confidence, improve naturally, and expand their vocabulary faster.
My classes are centered around everyday topics such as daily routines, travel, work, culture, and real-life situations. Through guided conversations, vocabulary expansion, and natural corrections, students learn how to express themselves more fluently and comfortably.
I also focus strongly on correct pronunciation. I will help you pronounce words clearly and naturally, correct common mistakes, and work on reducing your accent so you can sound more like a native speaker.
If you already have basic Portuguese and understand the language but need to improve your speaking skills or learn new vocabulary, feel free to contact me. I will help you speak more confidently and naturally.
