About Megan

Hello! I'm a fully qualified primary teacher with five years of teaching experience, and I'm passionate about helping children build confidence and discover their potential as learners.

I believe that every child deserves to feel successful, valued and supported in their learning. Literacy is a vital part of a child's development, not only because it helps them succeed at school, but because reading, writing, and communication open up so many opportunities as they grow. I love helping children develop these skills at their own pace, in a way that feels enjoyable, manageable and rewarding.

I understand that reading and writing don't always come easily to every child. Some children need a little extra time to develop their reading fluency, while others may find spelling, punctuation, comprehension or putting their ideas into writing challenging. My approach is calm, encouraging and tailored to each child's individual needs, helping them build on what they already know while gently working towards their next steps.

As a teacher, I have experience supporting children with a range of abilities and additional support needs. I know how important it is to create an environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and trying again without fear of getting things wrong.

Above all, I want every child to feel proud of their progress and recognise how much they can achieve. Whether we're practising phonics, developing reading comprehension, strengthening writing skills or exploring creative writing, I aim to make each lesson a positive experience where learning feels achievable.

I'd love to help your child build their literacy skills, find confidence in their abilities, and discover the joy of learning something new, one step at a time!

About the lesson

I believe that learning should be an enjoyable, engaging and positive experience! My lessons combine a creative approach with carefully planned activities that help children develop their skills while having fun.

As a qualified primary teacher, I understand that every child learns differently. I make lessons interactive and hands-on, using games, practical activities, visual resources, and creative approaches to bring learning to life. Whether we're using games to practise maths skills, exploring stories to develop literacy, or finding imaginative ways to tackle tricky concepts, I want children to feel excited about learning rather than overwhelmed.

Every lesson is tailored to the individual child, taking account of their interests, strengths and areas where they may need extra support. I aim to build on what they already know, introduce new concepts in manageable steps and provide plenty of opportunities to practise and celebrate their progress.

I also believe that making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning. I strive to create a relaxed, encouraging environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, trying new things and building confidence at their own pace.

My goal is for every child to leave a lesson feeling proud of what they've achieved, excited about what they've learned and looking forward to the next one. Learning can be fun, creative and meaningful, and I'd love to help your child experience that for themselves!
